The Specialist in silicone
CALL NOWThe silicone injection molding process (LIM – Liquid Injection Molding) is a modern and particularly efficient method for manufacturing silicone parts. Thanks to this process, very precise, durable, and extremely resistant components can be produced. Therefore, it is used in many areas, for example, in the automotive industry, medical technology, electronics, and household goods.
How does the injection molding process work?
During injection molding, liquid silicone (LSR – Liquid Silicone Rubber) is injected into a mold under high pressure. Afterwards, it cures through vulcanization, giving the material its excellent mechanical properties and temperature resistance. Since the entire process is fully automated, large quantities can be produced with the highest precision.
The use of modern injection molding machines ensures that the manufactured parts always have consistently high quality. In addition, silicone can be combined with other materials through the multi-component injection molding process. This allows additional functions to be integrated directly into the product.
Advantages of Injection Molding Technology
- High Precision and Repeatability – Each part has identical specifications, which is particularly important for applications with tight tolerances.
- Resistance to Extreme Conditions – Silicone remains stable at temperatures from -60°C to +250°C.
- Safety and Biocompatibility – Silicone parts are suitable for medical technology and food contact.
- Ability to Manufacture Complex Geometries – This process allows the production of components with irregular shapes, thin walls, and complex structures.
- Fast Production Cycles – The fully automated process reduces production time and minimizes material waste.
- High Material Efficiency – Due to the precise dosing of the silicone, there is hardly any waste, which improves the economic efficiency of manufacturing.
